Gold nanoparticle dispersion for SERS is now available for easy use of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), which enhances Raman scattering by more than 10,000 times by controlling the plasmonic nano-aggregate structure of gold nanoparticle self-assembly, by the co-aggregation method. Just by mixing 3 µL of the aggregation initiator solution and 54 µL of gold nanoparticles for SERS in 3 µL of liquid sample, stable SERS signals can be obtained without any modification. This is for near infrared Raman spectroscopy.
Gold nanoparticles for SERS
Anisotropic self-assemblies of noble metal nanoparticles connected in chains strongly absorb light at wavelengths corresponding to localized plasmon resonance in their long axial direction and generate an enhanced electric field in the gap between the particles. The gold nanoparticles for SERS are mixed with the sample to be measured and self-assemble in-situ. Co-aggregation SERS, in which gold nanoparticles for SERS are mixed with the sample to be measured and self-assemble in-situ, makes use of this property to achieve dye-free, high-sensitivity sensing at a low cost and in a simple manner.
